Convention centre Kochi · Kerala venuesKerala’s biggest rooms, with the sources showing.
From a 3,000-guest hall at Bolgatty to an 85-seat room on the backwaters — what each Kerala venue lists, how far to trust it, and what it is good for.
What is the largest convention centre in Kerala?
Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre (LBICC) in Kochi, beside Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. Hyatt lists its Liwa hall at 2,419 sq m for up to 3,000 guests and the Vembanad ballroom at 1,800 sq m for about 2,000. Lulu’s 2018 launch release cited about 10,000 across both halls.
Last checked October 2026. Sources: Hyatt LBICC and Lulu, 2018. The two figures differ; for a quote we use the hall’s floor plan for your exact set-up.
A venue that is “big enough” on paper can still be wrong on the day.
- 3,000 is a theatre number. At round tables, the same hall seats far fewer. Banquet capacity is usually 55–70% of theatre.
- The hall is free. The rooms are not.LBICC’s neighbour, Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty, has 264 rooms. A 1,500-delegate event needs a plan for the rest.
- Two listings, two answers.Single-directory figures (marked L below) are a starting point, not a promise.
- No published rate card.LBICC hall rent is not published. Every number comes from a direct quote for your dates.

What we check before a venue goes into your plan
- Capacity for your layout with the stage and LED in place
- Breakout rooms free on your dates
- Load-in route, rigging and power for production
- Room block in the venue hotel and overflow hotels nearby
- Per-plate menus, minimum spends and venue-charge waivers
- Other events booked in the venue on your dates

Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre, in practice
The anchor venue for any large Kerala conference, and the only one in this guide that can take a 2,000+ plenary.
- Two big halls. Liwa (2,419 sq m, ≈3,000) for the plenary; Vembanad (1,800 sq m, ≈2,000) for a second plenary, an exhibition or the gala dinner (Hyatt LBICC).
- A hotel next door. Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty has 264 rooms and its own 700 sq m ballroom for about 800 — useful for a leadership dinner away from the main crowd.
- One plenary, one dinner hall. Running the conference in Liwa and the dinner in Vembanad avoids a rushed overnight changeover of a single hall.
- Rates on request. Lulu Bolgatty convention centre rates are not published; we request a quote for your dates and layout.

Venues we have not verified yet
CIAL convention centre near Kochi airport, Crowne Plaza Kochi and Taj Kumarakom are regularly asked about, but we have not found figures we trust enough to publish. If one of them is on your shortlist, we check capacity and dates directly with the venue before including it in a plan.
Exhibition-scale shows in Kochi are planned case by case: we start from LBICC’s hall areas and the organiser’s floor plan.
