Leadership offsiteTwo days where your leadership actually decides things.
The agenda is yours. The room, the clock, the travel and every distraction are ours — so the CEO’s office gets decisions, not a nice weekend.
What is a leadership offsite?
A leadership offsite is a focused session where a company’s senior team leaves the office to set strategy, make decisions and build trust. It is usually one or two days, facilitated, with limited distractions, a pre-read, two or three decision blocks and informal dinners — and it ends with owners and dates for every decision.
A leadership offsite has an audience of one. The CEO.
- The room is wrong. No daylight, no breakout space, a screen that will not mirror. The first hour goes to fixing it.
- The agenda is a conference.Eight presentations, no decisions. Leaders leave tired and nothing changes.
- The resort is busy.A loud group at the next table and staff walking through the session.
- Nobody owns the output.Great conversations, no written decisions, and the same debate next quarter.

Everything except the decisions.
We work alongside your facilitator — internal or external — on room set, timing and materials, and stay invisible while the session runs.
- Location shortlist for privacy, daylight and breakout space
- Pre-read packs printed, bound and sent ahead
- Room set for the method: U-shape, clusters or a circle of chairs
- Screens, mics and a quiet tech check before anyone arrives
- Private dining and an informal second evening
- Decisions, owners and dates typed up the same evening
Leadership offsite agenda template (Day 1 / Day 2)
Day one is for understanding. Day two is for deciding. Keep presentations short and protect the open-conversation slot — it is where the real issues come out.
| Time | Day 1 — understand | Day 2 — decide |
|---|---|---|
| 08:30 | Arrival coffee; phones into the basket | Overnight reflections: one sentence each |
| 09:00 | CEO frame: the 2–3 decisions we leave with | Decision block 2 — options, trade-offs, a call |
| 10:00 | Strategy review against the pre-read | Resourcing: people, budget, what we stop doing |
| 12:30 | Lunch, seated across functions | Lunch |
| 14:00 | Decision block 1 — facilitated | Commitments: owner, date, first milestone |
| 16:00 | Open conversation: what is not being said | How we will communicate this to the company |
| 17:30 | Walk, sport or quiet time | Close; travel home |
| 20:00 | Informal dinner, no agenda | — |
A template for 10–40 senior people. Keep the pre-read to what can be read in an hour, and send it a week ahead.
Leadership offsite agenda topics that earn their slot
- The three-year view: where we play, where we will not
- Next year’s number and the two bets that get us there
- What to stop doing — the hardest and most valuable hour
- Org design: the roles we need that we do not have
- Customer review: lost deals and what they tell us
- Capital and hiring allocation by function
- Culture: what we reward versus what we say we reward
- Succession and the bench behind each leader
- Risks we are not talking about
- How the leadership team works together — meetings, decisions, conflict
- The message to the company after the offsite
Leadership offsite activities and ideas for senior teams
Senior teams rarely want ropes courses. The best activities create conversation without performance.
Walking one-to-ones
Pairs walk for 40 minutes with one question each. Works on any estate or beach.
Pre-mortem
It is a year from now and the plan failed. Why? Surfaces risks people avoid in meetings.
Customer chair
An empty chair at the table speaks for the customer; anyone can sit in it.
Cook-together dinner
A chef-led session where the team cooks its own dinner. Status disappears quickly.
Safari or sunrise
In Kabini or at Nandi Hills, an early outing gives the second day a different energy.
Letters to the team
Each leader writes what they will personally do differently; shared on day two.

How to choose a leadership offsite location
| Criterion | Why it matters | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Travel time | Every hour on the road is an hour out of the agenda | About 1 hour for one night; 3+ hours only for two nights |
| Privacy | Senior conversations need confidentiality | Exclusive use, or a room away from other guests |
| The room | Daylight and space change the quality of thinking | Natural light, breakout corners, reliable power and Wi-Fi |
| Rooms | Senior people usually expect single rooms | Enough singles on one property |
| Dining | Informal dinners are where trust is built | Private dining space and a flexible menu |
