Exhibition stall design in BangaloreThree seconds as they walk past. That is the whole brief.
Custom booths for trade shows at BIEC and KTPO — designed to stop the right visitor, approved by the organiser on time, built clean and handed over before the doors open.
How long does a custom exhibition booth take to build?
A custom exhibition booth typically takes three to six weeks from design to handover: design and sign-off, organiser approvals, fabrication and finishing, then the build on site during the venue’s setup days. Size, materials and the organiser’s submission deadlines set the real timeline, so start from the deadline and work backwards.
At BIEC on Tumkur Road and KTPO in Whitefield, your booth sits in an aisle with dozens of others, and the visitor decides in a few steps whether to stop. What matters is not the most expensive build but the clearest one: one message readable from the aisle, a reason to step in, and a place to have a real conversation. We design for that, manage the build with fabrication partners, and stand on the floor through setup.
Expo failures are public. Your competitor is in the next aisle.
- The booth is still being built at opening.Fabrication slips, then setup days run out. We plan from the organiser’s build window, not from the design date.
- The organiser rejects the drawing.Height limits, rigging rules and fire norms differ per show. Drawings go in early and are built to what was approved.
- The screen has no power.Power orders are placed with the organiser, separately and early. We list every load before the order deadline.
- The booth looks great and nobody stops.Too many messages and a closed front. One line, open sides and a demo or conversation point fix most of this.

Bangalore’s two big exhibition venues
Most trade shows in Bangalore happen at one of these two. Both are listed figures; the organiser of your show sets the floor plan.
| Venue | Area | Listed space | Typical shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) | Tumkur Road | 5 halls, 77,200 sq m of covered exhibition space, plus a convention centre | Large industry and technology expos |
| KTPO Trade Centre | Whitefield | AC hall ≈5,371 sq m | Expos and trade fairs near the eastern IT corridor |

What BIEC charges — and who pays it
BIEC publishes its hall rates. These are what the show organiser pays BIEC. As an exhibitor you buy your booth space from the organiser at their own price.
| BIEC item (organiser-level) | Rate (plus taxes) |
|---|---|
| Exhibition space, show days | ₹265 per sq m per day |
| Exhibition space, setup and dismantle days | ₹138 per sq m per day |
| Air-conditioning | ₹3.45–5.75 lakh per hall per day |
| Stage (convention centre) | ₹75 per sq ft |

Ten things to send your booth designer
The better the brief, the fewer rounds of design — and the fewer surprises on setup day.
- Show name, venue, hall and dates, including setup and dismantle days
- Plot size, stand number and how many sides are open
- The organiser’s exhibitor manual — height limits, rigging, fire and power rules
- The one message the booth must carry, readable from the aisle
- Products to display or demo, with sizes, weights and power needs
- Meeting needs: how many private conversations at once, storage, a lockable area
- Brand guidelines and any graphics already approved
- Who staffs the booth, and how you will capture leads
- Budget range, and whether the booth should be reused at later shows
- One decision-maker for design sign-off
What makes a booth work on a busy floor
One line, big
One message at eye height and one at the top for the far aisle. Logos alone do not stop anyone.
Open the front
Remove the counter barrier. Put the product or demo at the aisle edge, not at the back wall.
Light it
Halls are flat-lit. Your own lighting makes the booth look finished and photographs well.
A reason to stop
A live demo, a short experience or a sample — something that takes thirty seconds.
A place to talk
A quieter corner or a closed meeting room for the conversation that leads to an order.
Build to reuse
Modular frames and swappable graphics bring down the cost of the next show.
