Corporate family dayThe day their families see where they work.

A family day is the only company event where the audience includes four-year-olds and grandparents. We plan family day events on campuses and at resorts in and around Bangalore — with every child accounted for and every parent able to relax.

The short answer

What is a corporate family day event?

A corporate family day is a company-hosted day out for employees and their families — on the campus or at a resort — with activity zones for each age group, a shared lunch, a short welcome from leadership and a main-stage moment. It usually runs five to six hours on a weekend and ends before evening traffic.

Family days are quietly powerful. An employee’s partner meets their manager, a child sees the desk they hear about every evening, a parent understands why the job matters. That is worth more than another team dinner — if the day is safe, easy and genuinely fun for every age.

What keeps event owners up at night

Six hundred guests. Two hundred of them under twelve.

  • A child goes missing for ten minutes. The longest ten minutes of the HR head’s career. Wristbands with a parent’s number, one exit, a lost-child point and trained volunteers.
  • The teenagers are bored by 11 am.And they tell their parents. They get their own zone: gaming, sport, a DJ workshop.
  • Lunch queues in the sun.Two hundred children and a single buffet line. Kids’ counters open first, tables in the shade, water everywhere.
  • Rain at noon.Bangalore weather changes fast. Every outdoor activity has an indoor or covered fallback agreed with the venue.

Activities

Family day event activities by age group

The best family day activities give every age something to do at the same time, so parents are not stuck choosing between their children and their colleagues.

Age groupActivities that workKeep in mind
Under 5Soft-play zone, bubble show, sand art, a puppet show, colouring cornerShade, a feeding and changing room, and a quiet corner for naps
5–12Magic show, treasure hunt, mini-Olympics, face painting, craft tables, a science showHourly slots so children rotate; a volunteer per 10 children
13–17Gaming zone, a DJ workshop, a photo booth with props, a cricket or football matchTeenagers avoid anything that looks like it is for children — give them their own zone
AdultsCouples’ quiz, a cooking face-off, tug of war, a band or a stand-up setSomething to do that is not just watching their children
GrandparentsSeated music — a bhajan or ghazal set, carrom and chess, a long lunch tableRamps, chairs in the shade, short walking distances
Whole familyFamily portrait studio, a “guess my parent’s job” game, a plant-a-sapling cornerThe moments people share afterwards — plan them deliberately

For resort-based family days, check activity age limits: at Club Cabana near the airport, most activities need children to be 8 or older and at least 120 cm tall (Club Cabana).

Ideas

Family day event ideas beyond the bouncy castle

“Guess my parent’s job”

Children draw what their parent does at work; the drawings become a wall at the office for a month.

Mini-Olympics

Sack race, lemon-and-spoon, relay — with medals for every child who finishes.

Family portrait studio

A professional photographer, a simple backdrop, prints sent within a week. The most-shared thing on the day.

Office tour for kids

For campus family days: a short tour with a “junior employee” badge at the end.

Cook-off

Parents and children cook one dish together under a chef’s guidance.

Talent slot

Five-minute performances by employees’ children, booked a week ahead — a lot of proud parents.

Plant a sapling

Each family plants one with a name tag; it works at resorts with land to give.

Science show

Bubbles, slime, dry ice and small explosions that are safe — children talk about it for weeks.

Carnival stalls

Ring toss, dunk tank, candy floss, popcorn and a prize counter with coupons.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they book

What are good family day activities for a company event?
Activity zones by age: soft play and a bubble show for toddlers, a magic show, treasure hunt and mini-Olympics for 5–12s, gaming and sport for teenagers, a quiz or cook-off for adults and seated music for grandparents. Add a family portrait studio — it is the most-shared moment.
How do you plan a family fun day event?
Fix the headcount including children, pick a campus or resort with a rain plan, design zones by age, plan lunch with a kids’ counter, schedule a short welcome and one main-stage moment, arrange buses, and brief volunteers on safety. Start six to eight weeks ahead.
Where can we hold a family day near Bangalore?
On your campus; at activity resorts such as Club Cabana near the airport or Area 83 on Bannerghatta Road; or at convention resorts such as Clarks Exotica in Devanahalli and Golden Palms in Nelamangala for larger groups. Each has its own child age and height rules for activities.
How long should a corporate family day be?
Five to six hours, typically 10 am to 4 pm on a weekend. That covers arrival, activities, lunch, one shared stage moment and a gentle wind-down, and gets families home before evening traffic and tired children.
Why do companies celebrate family day?
Because families carry a lot of an employee’s working life — late calls, travel, deadlines. A family day thanks them, shows them the workplace and the people, and gives employees a reason to feel proud of where they work.
How much does a corporate family day cost per person?
Published day-outing packages near Bangalore range from about ₹800 to ₹3,500+ per person, depending on meals and activities. Shows, extra facilitators, buses, photography and goodie bags sit on top. We give an itemised estimate per adult and per child.
We are a 400-person company in Whitefield with about 150 children expected. Campus or resort?
If your campus has a lawn, a covered hall and security that can sign in families, the campus saves travel and feels personal. Otherwise, a resort near the airport or on Hoskote side keeps the drive short. Either way, plan for 550 people, not 400.
