Stand-up comedian for corporate eventsLaughter in the room. Nothing to apologise for on Monday.
Clean, briefed stand-up for annual days, offsites, sales kickoffs and award nights in Bangalore, Goa and Kerala — booked through the comedian’s management, with a written brief that protects your brand and your people.
How do you book a stand-up comedian for corporate events in India?
Book through the comedian’s management with a written brief: audience, language, set length and a clean-set rule — nothing on religion, caste, gender, politics, named colleagues or competitors, and no recording without consent. Watch a recent full set, not a clip, confirm fee and travel in writing, and place the set before the bar gets busy.
Comedy is the highest-reward, highest-risk act you can book. A great set is the thing people quote for a year. A bad one ends up in an HR inbox, or worse, on someone’s phone. The difference is almost never the comedian’s talent; it is the brief, the room and the slot. We handle all three.
Corporate comedy goes wrong in three ways. All of them are avoidable.
- The CEO became the punchline.Without consent, in front of the whole company. Leaders are referenced only if they agreed in advance, and only in the way they agreed.
- A joke about caste, region or gender. It got a laugh in a club. It gets a complaint at work. The brief lists what is off-limits, in writing, and management signs it.
- The set was filmed and posted.Edited out of context by Tuesday. Recording and social rules are in the contract, for the comedian and for guests.
- The room was not built for comedy.Lights up, waiters clearing plates, a noisy bar at the back. Comedy needs a dark room, a lit face and full attention.

A set that lands, and a brief that protects you
- Shortlist matched to your audience’s languages: English, Hindi, Kannada or Malayalam
- Recent full sets reviewed — not only the clips that went viral
- Written clean-set and brand-safety brief, acknowledged by management
- Customised references prepared with your team and approved before the night
- Room set for comedy: light, seating, service paused, bar managed
- Slot chosen in the running order, with a hard out the show caller holds
- Travel, rooms and the fee on separate lines
The brief to send a comedian before you sign
Copy this into your enquiry. A professional corporate comic will welcome it; one who will not agree to it is not the right booking.
| Brief section | What to write |
|---|---|
| Audience | Headcount, age range, the share of guests who are family, partners or clients, and which languages they understand |
| Language | The set’s main language and how much of a second language is welcome |
| Off-limits topics | Religion, caste, region and community, gender and sexuality, body and appearance, politics, disability, any current news involving the company |
| Company references | Which product names, teams and in-jokes may be used; what is confidential; no competitor brands |
| Leadership | Named leaders only with their prior consent and in the agreed way; no roasting by default |
| Crowd work | Yes or no; never on junior staff, clients or anyone who looks uncomfortable |
| Language register | No profanity, or a stated limit; no innuendo if families and children attend |
| Recording and social | Who may record, whether clips may be posted, and the approval route before anything goes online |
| Time | Set length and a hard out; the show caller’s signal for the last two minutes |
| Sign-off | Management acknowledges the brief in writing as part of the contract |
Corporate bookings commonly come with a clean-content requirement, and NDA or brand clauses can affect the fee (StarClinch comedian price guide, Feb 2026).

How to set a corporate room for comedy
Most corporate comedy fails because the room fights the comedian. Fix these and an average set becomes a good one.
Light and sound
- A clear light on the comedian’s face; house lights dimmed
- A handheld mic with a spare, and speakers that reach the back
- No walk-up music longer than ten seconds
Seating
- Audience close to the stage; fill the front tables first
- No empty dance floor between the stage and the first row
- Leadership seated where they can laugh, not on display
Service
- Plates cleared and service paused during the set
- Bar at the back or closed for the set
- Phones-down request from the emcee if recording is restricted
Stand-up comedians for corporate events: formats and slots
Twenty to thirty minutes is enough for most corporate nights. Place it where the room is still listening.
| Format | Length | Best slot | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clean stand-up set | 20–30 min | After the leadership address, before dinner | Annual days, award nights |
| Customised corporate set | 20–40 min | Mid-programme, as a reset between award blocks | Sales kickoffs, dealer meets |
| Comedian as host | Whole programme | Replaces the emcee; needs a strict script | Award nights with lighter tone |
| Improv or audience-led comedy | 30–45 min | Offsite evening, smaller groups | Leadership offsites, team nights |
| Comedy quiz or game show | 45–60 min | Family days, team parties | Mixed-age audiences |
Avoid the slot straight after the bar opens or after dinner: attention drops and heckling rises.
