Corporate entertainment ideasSomething they talk about at lunch tomorrow. For the right reasons.
A working list of corporate event entertainment ideas — live acts, interactive formats, Indian and fusion options — sorted by event type and by audience size, with the watch-outs that decide whether each one works.
What is corporate entertainment, and how do you choose it?
Corporate entertainment is the live acts and interactive formats built into a company event — bands, DJs, comedians, dancers, cultural ensembles, games and hosted experiences. Choose by event type, audience size and language mix: an act that fills a 1,500-person annual day will overwhelm a 40-person leadership dinner, and the reverse is just as true.
The best corporate entertainment does one of three jobs: it opens the night with energy, it resets the room between long segments, or it gives people a reason to stay after the formal programme ends. Ideas below are grouped so you can pick one act for each job. Every live act still needs the basics — a stage that fits, sound sized for the room, a rehearsal and a slot in the run-of-show.
Entertainment fails when it is chosen for the wrong room.
- A great act, the wrong audience.A rock band for a dealer meet whose partners wanted Kannada film music. We start from who is in the seats.
- Too big for the room.A twelve-piece ensemble in a ballroom set for 80. Scale the act to the headcount and the ceiling.
- Interactive, but nobody joins in.Games that need volunteers, in a room of people who report to each other. We pick formats where joining is easy and opting out is invisible.
- Brilliant at 9 pm, silent at 10.Outdoor loudspeakers stop at 10 pm. Late segments move indoors.

We turn the shortlist into a show that runs
- Shortlist matched to your event type, headcount, languages and budget
- Acts booked through official management or licensed agencies
- Stage, sound and light sized for each act and the room
- Running order that places each act where it works best
- Rehearsal and cue-to-cue with every performer
- Briefs for comedy, hosting and interactive formats that keep it brand-safe
- Costs on separate lines: act, travel, production, our fee

Corporate entertainment by audience size
The headcount changes what works more than the budget does.
| Guests | Works well | Usually does not |
|---|---|---|
| Under 50 | Acoustic duo, mentalist, cooking or cocktail class, improv workshop, storytelling, tasting sessions | Big stage acts, loud bands, anything needing volunteers from a small group |
| 50–150 | Jazz trio, clean stand-up, quiz with buzzers, karaoke, caricature artist, fusion feature set | Full stadium-style production, acts that need a 30-foot stage |
| 150–500 | Four- to six-piece band, DJ, comedian, dance troupe, silent disco, live painting | Close-up magic as the main act — most of the room cannot see it |
| 500–1,500 | Headline singer with live band, large dance or aerial acts, drum ensembles, LED-led reveals | Quiet acts without camera feeds to the screen |
| 1,500+ | Concert-format headliner, multiple acts, festival-style zones, a show built for the screen | Single small acts; any segment without IMAG on LED |

Indian and fusion entertainment for corporate events
Regional forms make an event feel rooted in the place — especially for offsites in Karnataka, Goa and Kerala. Book them as you would any artist, with respect for what each form is.
| Form | Where it comes from | How it works at a corporate event |
|---|---|---|
| Dollu Kunitha | Drum dance popular in central Karnataka; performers carry large drums tied to the body (Karnataka Tourism) | A powerful opening or walk-in for an annual day or dealer meet |
| Yakshagana | Theatre tradition of coastal Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and parts of Uttara Kannada (Karnataka Tourism) | A short excerpt or a make-up and costume showcase |
| Kamsale | Associated with the Mysuru and Chamarajanagar regions (Karnataka Tourism) | An opening for offsites around Mysore |
| Kodava dance | Linked with Kodagu (Coorg) (Karnataka Tourism) | A welcome performance at a Coorg offsite |
| Chenda | Kerala’s cylindrical drum, usually jackfruit wood, central to temple festivals and processions (Kerala Tourism) | Arrival welcome or the opening of a Kerala conference |
| Kathakali | Stylised Kerala dance drama with elaborate costumes (Kerala Tourism) | A short piece plus a make-up demonstration for guests |
| Mohiniyattam | Classical dance of Kerala, performed almost exclusively by women (Kerala Tourism) | A feature performance at a gala dinner |
| Kalaripayattu | Kerala martial art; training in self-defence and weapons such as swords, staffs and shields (Kerala Tourism) | A demonstration — dramatic, and needs space and safety |
| Fusion band | Carnatic or Hindustani instruments with a contemporary band | Works across languages; strong for Diwali and award nights |
| Bollywood dance troupe | Choreographed film-music medleys | High energy before the dance floor opens |
Theyyam is a ritualistic form of north Malabar (Kerala Tourism); treat ritual forms as ritual, not stage entertainment. A performance in folk or classical music, dance or theatre is exempt from GST when the fee is ₹1,50,000 or less (GST on artists); rules change, so confirm with your finance team.

Five questions before you book any act
- Which job is it doing? Opener, reset or closer. One act cannot do all three.
- Who is in the room? Languages, age range, families, clients, leadership.
- Can everyone see it? Above 500 guests, plan camera feeds to the LED screen.
- Is it indoors after 10 pm? Loudspeakers in open areas are restricted from 10 pm to 6 am; closed venues are exempt (Noise Pollution Rules summary).
- Is it brand-safe? Comedy, hosting and games need a written brief.
