Sound and light rental in BangaloreIf the back row can’t hear the CEO, nothing else on stage matters.
Sound and lighting for corporate events in Bangalore, Goa and Kerala — designed for speech, lit for faces and cameras, and run by engineers who rehearse with your presenters.
What sound and light does a corporate event need?
A corporate event needs sound that keeps every word clear at the back of the room, enough wireless microphones for each segment plus spares, front light that shows faces on stage and on camera, and stage and room lighting for mood. The right spec follows from headcount, room shape and agenda, not a package list.
Search “sound and light rental near me” and you get packages priced by the watt. Watts are the wrong unit for a conference. What matters is whether the person in the last row hears every consonant of the keynote, whether the panel can talk without feedback, and whether the photographs show your leadership’s faces rather than silhouettes against a bright LED wall. This page is how we decide the spec.
Sound fails in seconds. Everyone in the room notices at once.
- The lapel mic dies mid-sentence.Fresh batteries before every segment, charged spare transmitters at the side of the stage, and a handheld on the lectern as the fallback.
- Feedback squeals during the panel.Lapel mics need more gain than handhelds. We tune the system at line check and keep speakers forward of the microphone line.
- The back half of the ballroom hears an echo.Long rooms need delay speakers timed to the stage, not more volume at the front.
- The photos show dark faces against a bright screen.Stage wash without front light leaves presenters in shadow. We balance face light against the LED wall so the cameras see both.

Sound and light, designed around your agenda
- Mic plan per segment: who speaks, on which mic, and where the spares sit
- Speaker system sized to the room: main speakers, front fills and delays
- Front-of-house engineer, plus a separate stream or recording mix where needed
- Stage monitors and in-ear systems for bands and performers
- Front light and key light for presenters and cameras
- Stage wash, moving heads, uplighting and room light for galas
- House lights on cue, so the room goes dark when the film starts
- Line check, sound check and a lighting focus before doors
Which microphones does each segment need?
Most audio problems at corporate events are microphone problems. We plan mics by segment, not by total count.
| Microphone | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Handheld wireless | Emcee, awards, audience Q&A | Q&A needs a runner per side of the room; presenters drift the mic away from their mouth |
| Lapel (lavalier) | Keynotes and panels | Clothing rustle and lower gain before feedback; placement matters |
| Headset | Presenters who walk, demos, talk-show formats | Needs fitting time backstage and a quick-change plan |
| Lectern gooseneck | Formal speeches, AGMs, chief-guest addresses | Only works while the speaker stays at the lectern |
| Table or boundary mic | Seated panels and round-table discussions | Picks up table knocks and water glasses |
Our rule: every speaking role has a named mic, and every segment has a spare within arm’s reach of the stage manager.
How much sound system does your event need?
Coverage, not loudness. Each row is a typical starting point we refine at the recce.
| Event | Typical system | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Leadership offsite or board meeting, up to 50 | Compact speakers or the venue’s own PA, table or lapel mics | Speech only; the risk is a dead mic, not volume |
| Ballroom conference, 200–800 | Main speakers either side of the stage, front fills, delays in long rooms, digital mixer | Even, intelligible speech to every seat without blasting the front row |
| Annual day or award night with performances | Larger main system with subwoofers, stage monitors, playback for dance tracks | Music and speech in one show; quick changes between acts |
| Live band or DJ | Main system, monitors or in-ears and backline to the artist’s rider | The artist’s technical rider sets the minimum |
| Outdoor lawn or Goa beach venue | Weather-protected system, generator backup, aimed away from neighbours | Boundary noise limits and the 10 pm rule apply outdoors |
Corporate event lighting: what each light is for
Light faces first, the stage second and the room third. If the event is filmed or streamed, the camera is the most demanding guest.
| Light | Job | When you need it |
|---|---|---|
| Front and key light | Shows presenters’ faces evenly, without hard shadows | Always — essential if anyone films, streams or photographs the stage |
| Stage wash | Even colour and level across the whole stage | Every stage show |
| Back light | Separates people from the LED wall behind them | Whenever there is a bright screen upstage |
| Moving heads and beams | Energy, reveals, award walk-ups, band sets | Annual days, launches, award nights, concerts |
| Uplighting and décor light | Colours the room, walls and table centres | Galas and dinners |
| Follow spot | Tracks a person who moves — awardee, performer | Award nights and performances |
| House light control | Takes the room dark and back on cue | Any film, reveal or performance moment |
Noise rules for events: what organisers typically need
Loudspeakers and PA systems need written permission from the authority. They cannot be used at night (10 pm–6 am) except in closed premises; the state may relax this to midnight on cultural or religious occasions for up to 15 days a year (Noise Pollution Rules, 2000). Closed venues such as auditoria and banquet halls are exempt from the night ban (summary). Rules change; we confirm current requirements with the authority for your date.
| Area category | Day limit, 6 am–10 pm (dB(A) Leq) | Night limit, 10 pm–6 am (dB(A) Leq) |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial | 75 | 70 |
| Commercial | 65 | 55 |
| Residential | 55 | 45 |
| Silence zone | 50 | 40 |
Ambient standards from the Schedule to the Noise Pollution Rules, 2000. At the boundary of a public place where a loudspeaker is used, noise must not exceed 10 dB(A) above the area’s standard or 75 dB(A), whichever is lower. For permissions see noise rules for events and police permission in Bangalore.
How much does it cost to hire sound and lighting equipment?
We do not publish a package rate, because a price per watt tells you nothing about coverage or crew. These are the lines that move a sound and light quote.
- Wireless channels. Each extra mic is a transmitter, a receiver and a battery plan.
- Room size and shape. Long or L-shaped rooms need more speakers and delays, not just bigger ones.
- Performances. Bands and dance acts add monitors, backline, playback and rehearsal time.
- Number of lighting fixtures and truss. Moving heads and the truss to hang them on are the main lighting cost.
- Cameras. Filming or streaming raises the standard of front light.
- Days and calls. Build day, rehearsal day, show day and night-time de-rig are separate crew calls.
- Crew. A front-of-house engineer, a monitor engineer for performers and a lighting operator are three different jobs.
- Power. Outdoor or large shows may need a generator; see how much power an event needs.
- Travel. For Goa and Kerala, local suppliers versus kit from Bangalore — we price both.
